I think people who say the first few years of marriage aren't hard must be lying. For my husband and I, the first year was great, but the second year was flat-out hell. We've worked on our relationship a lot since then, and these past two years have been great and I think we are stronger than ever. It's definitely worth the work!

I don't think that's necessarily true. I think that everyone's marriage is different and everyone runs into different obstacles at different times. Our first two years have been all peaches and cream. Seriously. I'm not lying at all, things couldn't be closer to perfect. And I am not naive enough to think it will continue forever that way, but our first few years of marriage weren't hard.

I just think it's dangerous to generalize. I think people who say the first year or two is the hardest are people that definitely experienced that, but it wasn't true at all for me.
