Wear wedding dress twice?

All the talk about trashing wedding dresses made me wonder how many of you would wear yours again if you were to get remarried to someone else. Or if there's anyone on here on your second or third marriages, did it occur to you to wear the same dress ( Read more... )

I wouldn't - but it was a fancy, expensive white dress, and I think if I got married again, I would very much tone it down. Nice suit at the courthouse kind of thing, you know? I'm past the stage of wanting to put in the time and expense of a second fancy wedding. :)

I wouldn't, but most likely because it's not going to be around that long without some other dedicated purpose. I wouldn't just have it in the closet waiting for some occasion to wear it.

I wouldn't do it, but my co-worker who's been married seven times has. ;) Probably very economically wise for her.

LOL, I know! Twice to the same person. She tried to give me one of her dresses when I was getting married. There were three to choose from!

holy crap that is insane... 7 times... uhhh I can't even imagine having and planning seven weddings - one was too much for me!

My wedding dress was chosen to be useful as a formal outfit for subsequent use.
I had to finally retire it a year or so ago (after 14 years) because it was starting to wear thin, but I've worn it to parties, nightclubs and all sorts of places.

If I remarried, though, I think I'd want a dress that was special to my new relationship, not one with associations to an old relationship. Though again I'd plan on wearing it more than once... :-)

I wouldn't- if I got married again it's probable that several years would have passed and the dress I wore for this wedding would probably no longer be in style. I'd also want to go for a different look- bell sleeves perhaps? :P

And oh yeah, the memories of the first marriage thing would probably put me off as well, but the above practical reasons are pretty much why I wouldn't do it. :)
