Welcome! Life is definitely too short to be away from the people you love. How did the immigration process go for you? Is everything finished with it?

after being married a year we are finally filing the papers - had we right away it would be done but we couldn't afford to file them all and i guess wanted to make sure we were going to last

Hiya.
I'm a newbie and mostly lurker here, but I am in a similar boat.

I'm the Yank, he's the French-Canadian. We filed our PR papers back in April and are just now hearing back on him getting accepted as a sponsor.

And we met each other 355 days before getting married :)

My hubby and I married three months after our first date, and then had a big wedding 6 months to the day after that first date. We also have three children between us (my little one is 6 1/2, and the teens (his) are almost 17 and almost 18), and life has been...different. :)

I hear you on the adjusting time. It's been difficult yet wonderful yet aggravating yet...you get the picture. We've now been married for about a year and a half, and the oldest is heading off to college in the fall, so it looks like it will be adjustments all around again.
