To me, normal is just whatever feels right to you. On a large scale, normal to society is whatever feels right - that is, fits into the social norms and behaviors - to the majority opinion of the society. On a smaller scale, normal to an individual is whatever feels right for the individual. When you are in a situation or acting or feeling in a way that makes you uncomfortable or uneasy, you don't feel normal. On the whole, I'd say that society and its expectations can go screw itself, but it's of the utmost importance to feel normal individually. In addition to just feeling -right,- it'll lead to better self-confidence and self-esteem.
