X had spent another night not able to get much sleep. He'd spent a good part of the night on the roof, looking up at the stars - or what he could see of them through the light pollution from the city and HQ lights

Axl hesitated outside X's door, his hand hovering a couple inches from knocking. He'd spent a couple days trying to talk himself into it -- he knew he had to do it, but he really didn't want to talk to X and open up this particular can of worms.
But it's not like putting it off is going to help...
X groaned at the sound of someone at his door. He'd been hoping he'd be left alone for a bit longer. He wasn't particularly in the mood to deal with someone wanting something from him. He briefly contemplated just taking off and pretending he was never here. But after a moment, he sighed and levered himself off the couch.
He turned down the music before going to see who was at the door. X blinked, a bit surprised the security feed showed him it was Axl. He hadn't expected him to visit. In fact, now that he thought about it, a few of the rumors he'd heard in the commissary had mentioned the kid acting a bit oddly - more quiet and subdued than usual the past few days.
X shook his head and then opened the door. X didn't really care that he probably looked a bit rumpled and his hair was touseled more than usual. Considering he'd been sprawled on his couch all morning, it was to be expected. "Axl?"
"Sure. Come on in." X stepped back to let Axl come inside. He wasn't sure what Axl wanted to talk about, but the kid looked kind of nervous. And it wasn't every day that Axl looked nervous.
"Here, catch." X tossed a cleaning towel at Axl. The solvent towel was supposed to be able to absorb and break down everything from oil and grease to alcohol and blood. "Start cleaning that up. I'll make you one."
X proceeded to pull a bottle of rum out of the back of a cabinet, a large bottle of coke from the fridge, and two glasses. In one glass, he put just enough rum to taste. In the other, he put a lot more rum before adding the coke. Juggling the glasses, he carried both bottles and glasses over to the coffee table. Then handed the glass light in rum to Axl.
By the time X had made it over with the drinks, Axl had finished mopping off the coffee table and the carpet and had tossed the towel aside. "Thanks," he said, taking the glass from X.
"Welcome." X sat back down on the couch next to Axl. He closed his eyes and took a drink from his glass before speaking up again. "This have something to do with another Hunter?"
"Hm..." X just took another long drink before pouring himself a refill. He scowled a bit at his drink before taking another sip. It was pretty stupid of him to be moping about not being able to do more when so many others had real reasons to be upset and depressed, unlike he did.
X frowned down at his glass before tipping it back and chugging the rest of it. Then he looked down at his empty glass, turning it in his hands as he considered refilling it again.
X stood up and gave Axl a hand up. So far, it didn't seem like X's motor control had been badly affected by all the rum. He was fairly steady on his feet as he headed for the door.
Axl wasn't faring quite so well as he got up. The seriousness of the conversation had managed to keep his mind mostly focused, but his motor skills were starting to go.

He couldn't exactly come straight out with it standing there in the hallway. "I need to talk to you about...something. Can I come in?"
