But it's a two month countdown to what is possibly the most-objectified day of my entire life

YES I realize this is possibly also why I am a bit O_o at weddings in general. Especially my own (should one ever occur). I just have no desire whatsoever to have one. Or go to them. I guess also it doesn't help that I was raised completely areligious and so also end up feeling weird because church stuff.

Man, my mom has started referring to me as "the bride" even when there are like, only two other people in the room (who are male--E and my Dad) and there is no one else likely to be a bride at all. SHE GAVE ME MY NAME BUT SHE WON'T USE IT.

I've felt pretty much the same way about weddings for years. I usually don't mind attending them, much.

Seriously, though, my Dad said something about weddings that made it click for me a little bit. He said that families and people only gather for weddings and funerals, and a wedding is a really joyous gift for the larger community. So I'm looking forward to people gathering, and sort of hating everything leading up to it.

There is SO much of a difference between getting married and a wedding.

A wedding is An Event-- and it's all about you (or your mom's unfulfilled wishes about her own).

Hang in there! :)
