You know what's funny? I just thought to myself "hey, I finally have something to post about, this is nice!" Probably not the first reason to procreate, but still valid, I think...
Congrats! Also I'm in the 39 and still in the DO NOT GET PREGNANT crowd, so it's nice to hear at least one person bucking the "OMG you are old and this will be an ordeal" message if I should decide in the possible near future to try and pop one out for some reason. My been-together-19-years-but-unmarried partner is in the midst of building an airplane from a kit though, and it is probably going to take a while and will take a much longer while if we decide to have a kid in the midst. So who knows...
I hear it does take 9 months-- or rather, 8 more months-- before the little nugget is prepared for the debut. Perhaps that is time to finish the plane?
I was ambivalent about getting married, myself, it was the spouse who drove that bus. I had a very "well, let's see what happens" attitude about procreating, and now I have a surprisingly adventuresome attitude about it (I threw up today! It was neat!)
So, yeah. Apparently it's really more about your general health and less about our age. If you are above average on healthiness, you could probably be pretty optimistic about it?
