Clockwise starting from young Robert, the pallbearers are: Stephen Smith, brother in law of Senator Kennedy; LeMoyne Billings, a family friend; James Whittaker, (partially hidden by Billings), the mountain climber who scaled Mt. Kennedy with the senator a few years prior; W. Averell Harriman, chief U.S. negotiator at the Vietnam Peace Talks in Paris; Olympic athlete Rafer Johnson; C. Douglas Dillon, former treasury secretary (at extreme right rear); Bill Barry, an aide to Senator Kennedy; astronaut John Glenn, (almost completely hidden); former British ambassador to the U.S. Lord Harlech; Robert McNamara, former defense secretary and now president of the World Bank, and David Hackett.
I hate focusing on his death. It brings me to sobs.
