Baby passport

Does anyone know how long these take to get (don't mind paying extra to fast track)? We've been invited to our friends' place in France at the very start of September...

I know you can renew an existing passport on the same day if pressed but I wasn't sure how quick you could get a brand new one.

It's very quick - I can't remember exactly, but I'll go and check - less than ten working days I think :)

smallclanger's was back within a week, but that was in January. August might be slightly slower.

My first UK passport took about a week, but it was around Christmas, and I think most other people had gone away. They do seem very efficient in general, and I have heard many good reports about them. Apply now!

I will - as soon as we get his amended birth certificate back (had to add a forename which I forgot to tell Joe to put on when he went to register the birth).

We ordered Bethan's in an April - took about two weeks. Catherine's we ordered in I think a March and it took two weeks. So both popular times ready for summer.

Trouble is, I wouldn't like to guarantee you'd get it by September. 95% chance you would, but.. if there's any hold up (photo not accepted, or any other problem) you have to add another few weeks on. It's risky!

I'm going to apply as soon as we get the birth certificate back from Sutton. I guess we don't book our chunnel tickets until the last minute.

You can pay extra to get the docs checked in front of you and then they guarantee 2 weeks (I think) I know you can't do the extra fast way for first passports.
