apparently, as some saying goes though, couples who look alike are true soul mates.

when i first brought my boyfriend to a family party, some of my relatives commented to both me and my mother (who told me about these later) that we look alike.

considering i'm asian and he's white, i thought the comments were preposterous.

but my mother said that it's a way for them to say that we look great together, and said that in the philippines, if 2 people look alike, they were meant to be.

congratulations on your engagement. it sounds exciting! good luck with the family. i can definitely relate to the religious mother, for i have one of my own. if she found out my boyfriend is atheist she would ban us from being together for sure.

hahaha a friend of mine who is from newfoundland is dating a korean girl and they apparently get that, too. i don't get it? haha

i like that saying...it helps when i hear things like "you look related!" which is so gross/odd to me haha

and thank you very much! it is exciting...we're very low key about all of it and hope to make the actual wedding-bit something just between us (aka eloping!) who knows if we'll have a reception, but i guess we're just taking it as it comes.

and sigh...religion. if only people could keep it to themselves, this world could be so much simpler.

Whew. Tread carefully. In-law stuff will start to get sticky before and definately after the wedding. But most of all, be yourself.

i love them to bits and am able to nod and smile when his mom's conversation turns religion...i think all will be well once george deals with them on his own terms and what we want is clear and in the open.
