I am such an idiot

Came home today for the weekend, planning on going to a greyhound event on sunday which I can contribute to my project a bit methinks.  Well...I had a whole load of bags to bring with me and one was full of art stuff - paints, the dog sketch book, pencils etc and I forgot them ALL.  Cannot believe I forgot the bag when it was sitting at the door ( Read more... )

At least you were able to find some colored pencils! I'm sure it looks great- better than I could do, anyway! And it's not selfish to want to art for yourself- why do those urges always come up when we have a million other things we need to be doing? :/ I havent' had time with my new job to art for myself, and when I DO get the urge to art.. I can't decide on what to draw! Hang in there, chickie. It will all work out! <3

Ack it's pish, but thanks love ^^ *hugs*
Oh aye, it always happens at the most inappropriate of times. It's cause life sucks ultimately!
And yeh it's like you have all this pent up art energy and when it comes to putting pencil onto paper either nothing works right or nothing springs to mind solidly >.<

Sod's Law. I hates >.

Damn girl, you've been a busy bee! I'm sure once you get all of your to-do projects out of the way, you'll feel a lot better- and have time to do something personal. Na, you ain't being selfish- it's only natural, and I think if one didn't they'd go mad. Or, at least I would >,<
Good luck finishing everything hun!

Too busy! I've been too lax at the beginning of summer and am now suffering for it...damn my procrastination-ness >.<

I think us art folks are the most selfish of all, but it's fine cause we all understand each other's needs XD
Thank you! *hug*

You're totally right - if there's not some degree of art for the self going on, it can get a bit sour! That's why I find I have to have my own stuff on the go simultaneously with a commish if/when I get one. Sounds like you are in a corner though with things you are committed to finish. You are enjoying the dogs though right? By the way they are looking, I'd say you must be. There's got to be a sizeable element of satisfaction being gained from those. Although that is a bummer that you forgot the art stuff... that sounds like something I'd do, watch out! XD

Hope you can get it all sorted. I know you will :) Good luck with the horse too... Maybe try something looser/more stylised if the photos are a bit dodge? Solid black is alright, fairly easy, lots of contrast, and you can get in some nice reds, blues and purples!

Well it's not that I'm not enjoying it - it's just getting a little nyeh...as in I have no other option other than to work on what I have and to follow the list I have. So as much as the outcomes are alright (some of them anyway) in the end I just don't think it's been worth much. Ack iono...I'm blabbering >.<
Yeh if I had something on the go at the same time it would have been grand! Sadly I procrastinate too much already I wouldn't have the time =P

I mean to update a journal with what I've done of Minnie so far - it's turning out alright. I'm just using graphite cause it's quicker than paint. Not used to drawing horses so already flew into one or two problems but peeps on the pet portrait forum have pin pointed them and fixed them. though still a tad unsure about it so will be needing a hand!
