Sleater-Kinney part 2!!!

Sep 15, 2005 10:19

As promised, here is part two of my best-gig-ever story. So, as you know, at this point we are standing outside the Temple Bar Music Centre wondering (a) how are we going to get to meet the band and (b) how are we all going to get in (remembering, of course, that 5 out of 6 of us were underage - I was the only 18 year old). So we stood there ( Read more... )

omg, awesome! I haven't talked to them yet, and I don't think I can. What did they say about the L word? Will they be guests or actors or...?
I'm glad you had so much fun, but it makes it harder for me to wait to see them again in October.

I was only talking to Corin about the L word, she was like "yeah, it was amazing" and I asked her if she met everyone and she said yes. I dont know what they're doing on it exactly, I never thought to ask, but I'm assuming they're performing, probably in The Planet.

Where are you seeing them in October? I was thinking of travelling up to Glasgow to see them and visit my friend who's studying there at the same time but I'm worried about getting time off work (not that I have a job yet, but I hopefully will have by October!)

Thanks! Freshers week has just started, I haven't got an internet account set up yet (I'm borrowing someone's username at the moment). Will post more about it later on. See ya!

hey-lo.
i sent your package today. i don't even havea a good excuse, seeing as it's been sitting on my desk since my first weekend in boston. sorrrrrry. really.
however, you MUST come to boston. i've made you a list of reasons why:
1) you can stay with me for free for up to three nights. then perhaps we can just move you into my friend's room if you want to stay longer.
2) i have guest meals, which means you can eat with me free too!
3) i found/was shown the most amazing store ever today. it's in cambridge, right across the river, and they have a huge room of vintagy clothes and costume pieces and ANOTHER room of sixties and seventies clothes. amazing.
4) boston is way more fun than ohio.
5) it's also closer to an airport than canfield.
6) i miss you.
7) i reaaaaalllly miss you.
yeah so....be watching for your present.

Boston sounds amazing. I'd sooooo love to visit, yey! Not sure how soon that'll be though. I've only just started uni this week, and am getting settled in okay, but I need to get a job and stuff. It's driving me a bit nuts - like there's loads of gigs I wanna travel up to London to see, but I can't book my tickets til I find out how flexible my job's gonna be...oh the horror!!! Can't wait to get the package. Have you got yours yet? It probably didn't arrive until after you moved out and stuff, but if you haven't got it yet I should warn you that it's rather small. Ah well, I'm a poor student now! By the way, you should come visit me in Canterbury. It's really close to London, you can stay with me for two nights for free and after that I can just pass you round my flatmates or something. It's also really close to London so we could spend a few days there if you fancy. Actually, tell you what, my friend Helen is living in London at the moment, and she has her flat for the whole summer so we could probably stay there for a while for free ( ... )
