I kind of understand where you're coming from. My parents divorced early on and I was raised mostly by my white Jewish mother. My dad is black Cuban and Catholic and has problems with Judaism and spent a lot of time telling me and my sister that we're not Cuban enough and should only date Hispanic and/or black men and to not be "so white", whatever that means. But, for all intents and purposes, I LOOK black and am always assumed to be so, and yet culturally I live mostly like a Jew. I'm very religious and while I do speak a lot of Spanish, I'm more fluent in Hebrew. My friends are mostly white, many are Jewish, and I have a lot of Hispanic and Asian friends too
