While this summer wasn't specactulary eventful, I still had fun in random places at random times. With random people. Okay so the people weren't that random. I decided that for a few reasons I'm putting together a picture guide to my summer. For one thing, I'm pretty bored right now. Everyone loves pictures and looking at them, too ...if you don't I don't understand you. Also, it will be fun to refer to when it gets pure white and the temperature drops below zero. Which I'm not looking forward to. But it's September 6 and about 90 degrees out so maybe there's more warmth coming this year. But now I'm rambling.
On June 6, I graduated. This is old news. After the commencements and lunch with the famiIy I went out somewhere with friends, I don't even remember where. But when I got home that night my car was decorated. I decided to take pictures of it the next day..mostly because it's dark at night. Yep.
I had to take a picture of my favorite part, too..
My dad and sister went crazy, as you can see. Sisterhood of the foot was our little "slogan" for cross country last year, I thought it was cute that my dad added that.
The beginning of the summer of 2004 was rather dreary. It was cloudy and rained a lot because mother nature thought it was still April. So, for the first couple weeks I spent most of my time inside. But one day, we decided eff you rain, we'll swim anyway. So we did. And did stupid things.
Like make a fountain
..and make a cake for someone who was in India
or jump in the pool clothed.
We also played the keep-the-ball-out-of-the-water game.
Sometime that same week, Bri,Jillian and I decided to go to the Mandarin House for lunch.
They fought over food. We then went to Meijer, where we discovered
Butter Lamb. What the hell is it and why is there a rabbit on the box? We'll never know.
One evening Kait, Court, and I went for a really long walk. We ended up at the tennis courts where we saw a huge moth/butterfly thing in a tree. We came to the conclusion that since it wasn't flying and it just sat there it was probably near the end of its life.
It's kind of a blurry picture but you get the idea. The thing was huge!
It never fails that when the four of us get together, Kait, Court, Al, and I act like retards. There's something about Al's kitchen that sets us off.
Here, Court is...I don't even know what we're doing.
Unfortunately those are the only two photos I have from that night. I'm sure you're all very sad. We made very good shakes that night.
This summer Kait and I were introduced to DDR and played it a lot, sometimes with the company of our mentor, Ben.
We spent seven hours in Ben's basement playing DDR one night with an hour or so break while we ate pizza and watched part of Shrek 2. As you can see, we got a little insane.
Jillian, Jen, and I went to the riverwalk one night and hung out on the pier. Jen got angry with us for some random thing and walked away. After about five minutes I called her cell to find her and she said, "I'm under a tree." There are a lot of trees there so we asked her to describe it. "It's a willow tree. . .with sticks, and there's a bird." Obviously that told us nothing but we eventually found her and went on our way. We then saw Lindsey and decided to hide in a tree and call her to carry on the tree theme of the day. She found us and there we all sat for a bit chatting.
Our feet, at the end of the pier. Jillian, me, Jen. Wee.
Jen took this while I squinted for the sun was in my face. Jillian says I look like Katie Holmes. Whatev
This is Jillian in the tree.
On July 11, aka 7/11, it was 7-11 day. . where you get free slurpeesthat are 7.11 oz. As part of tradition Bri Jen and I went to every 7-11 in the city and got free slurpees. We ended up with about 24 cups. Unfortunately I took pictures with a regular film camera and my scanner is crap, so I can't post them. But slurpee day happened, you better believe it.
Around the last couple weeks of summer, everyone started leaving for their respective colleges. The night before Court and Ben left for SVSU we took a picture of the "fab four" which consists of Al, Court, myself, and Kait (in order).
Since SVSU is about 20 minutes away we went out there to visit after a few days and hung out in Court's dorm and around campus.
"Look at something on the wall. . "
Something was apparently amusing.
Kristen et Court.
Al et Kait.
This, sadly, brings us to the near end of summer. My digital camera was a biatch and decided to stop working for a while so I'm all out. I'll leave you with this random picture of Court and I that was taken with her phone. One of the seldom times I actually spent time on my hair this summer.
PS some of the pictures won't resize and I'm sick of photobucket so I apologize :)
