This seems like a good place to make an announcement. I want to start a Civil War Generals' Beard Club. Each member will choose a Civil War general's beard to emulate. For instance, someone might want to be
Ambrose Burnside
or
Irvin McDowell
or
PGT Beauregard
or
Wm T Sherman.

At club meetings we'll go by our general's name.

One of the most valuable parts of VITA is the Earned Income Credit (EIC)! It is one of the greatest anti-poverty measures in the last 40ish years. Anyone over the age of 25 with an income is eligible to get it. I believe the average credit is around $3,000. It's technically a negative tax. Unfortunately, those who need it the most often don't know about it. So VITA works with an EIC coalition to provide tax assistance and spread the word about EIC. Did you know you were eligible? See... now go and tell people about it. Help them out!
