I have a feeling that every episode of S3 is going to leave me with this aching, frustrated feeling...much like this fic.

He walks away from her while he still has the ability-he knows it’s only a matter of time before the pull will become too great, and he’ll be as stationary as a bilateral leg amputee without a prosthesis or a wheelchair to speak of; non-ambulatory, unable to leave her side.

This reminds me of the scene in 2x13 in the tub with Andie--when Damon's bitching about loving a woman he can't have and then he's frustrated with Andie for not getting that the issue isn't because she's with someone else, it's because of how it makes him feel--that it makes him feel at all--and I do believe that will be the biggest problem. Combined with guilt over Stefan of course. Which is why eventually, it will be up to Elena to make the move. Gah. I can't wait.

In the meantime, poor bb Damon; this fic is just the perfect precursor to how beautifully angsty it's going to be.

I kinda have that feeling too, especially after reading about that interview with Ian. :/ I'm sorry this fic frustrated you, in a way, but at the same time, I'm not cos that's kind of what it was supposed to do. :)

It does indeed seem that Elena's going to have to make a move in the future, because Damon is apparently decided not to.

Oh my god, I love you for writing in this fandom. *_* <3<3 I've read very little VD fanfic and I'm starting to get my feet wet with it. The end of season 2 still wrenches my heart - Elena can't catch a break, can she? She needs Damon so much right now. ^_^ I can't wait to see what this new season will bring.

I can definitely see how Damon's headspace gets complicated. ^^ But I quite enjoyed this fic. I'll be looking forward to more! *squeeze* Thanks for sharing this, hon!
