I love how you described Inuyasha's feelings. He does put up a brave front all the time and he's such a proud soul, but I love that Kagome understands and doesn't feel the need to expose that part of him. She knows, she's aware, but she'll never rub it in because she understands the need to be strong in the face of fear.

But they need her. He needs her, and not just because of her ability to sense the jewel shards. It hasn't been about that for a long time.

How beautiful was this? I love this. It's so simple and straight to the point. I think that this kind of raw honesty of his feelings is more poetic than the most flowery verses of other Inuyasha fics I've read. I think that this serves as a better reflection of his character, actually. There were fics I would read where I'd be like "Jesus...is he gonna sprout a rosebush any time soon?"

Oh, thank you! I always see Inuyasha as this proud and sometimes silly guy who doesn't always voice what he means, but he does find ways to show it. And Kagome knows him--knows him better than anybody. She pushes him when she knows she needs to, but she accepts who he is and she loves him for it.

*blushflail* Thank you again. I can't imagine Inuyasha as using flowery language, even in just his thought processes. He's more straightforward than that. There's nothing at all wrong with flowery language when it is appropriate for the character. In this case, I didn't feel like it was.

I was also really worried that I wouldn't fulfill the prompt like you wanted me to--like it wouldn't match up well with the song. But hey, you said you love it and it works and that is all that matters! I'm so glad you enjoyed! <33333
