I just read in my Abnormal Psychology book that

"some estimates suggest that 20-25 percent of women will be raped during their lifetime"

And it made me want to cry.

that is one in 5 of us. You know 5 women... you know 25 women... think about it.

If men were getting attacked at this rate this country would be in a panic!

Yeah, its so sad because we hear it and expect it! It makes me so angry and I don't understand why more people don't get PISSED OFF!! because it pisses me off!!!!!!

That's the saddest thing I've heard today...we were taking about that in my sociology class, and it's so upsetting. We were also talking about how the media portrays issues like that...and how 1 in 4 children are sexually abused by people they know...not strangers...and how the media makes it seem like it's all this cyber stuff, and how actual cases show that it's people they know...and it's upsetting because everywhere in society it's about male dominance and we live in this stupid patriarchy and until we get rid of this range of thinking that males have to be powerful none of it is ever going to change. Ugh, it's so sickening and disgusting!

yeah, its horrible, i get depressed thinking about too much!

We are taught to watch out for strangers too!! That is the worst part, we are told to look out for other people and more often than not its committed by people WE KNOW!!
