For the past decade, my closest family has had five members: my father, my mother, my sister (even if she doesn't live with us anymore), myself and… my sweetest cat Luna. But now… now we are six.
Because on this past Monday, my father appeared at home with… a little kitten!
It's two months old, male, white, and it's name is Albus.
He had no home. The family who bought it was going to give him as a gift to a friend of theirs, but Albus was rejected. He was too little, and his future caretakers had no time for him. And the family who bought him has a dog, and couldn't care for it, either. So they thought about my father.
My father is… of that kind of people who has an special way with animals. And this family knew we have been very worried about Luna, because she ate a venomous plant (Flor de pascua, in Spanish) in Christmas and was very sick. She is almost fine, now, but there was a moment we believed would happen the worst… and even if she is out of danger now, she is still old, and weakened. Our vet said she won't be really fine anymore… Ah, but… as I was saying, those friends of my father decided we could do with a little one.
So he came, a little furry ball inside a paper bag. He arrived with his surviving kit: sand box, eating bowls, a brush (because he has long hair), and an almost full kitten food bag. That day in the afternoon we went to the vet, and got him fully checked. Again at home, we had to chose a name for him. I suggested Albus because he is white, and won! ;) If you are thinking my HarryPotter-tation has no limits, hear the other names in store for him: Tifú (my father) Rufus (my mother) and Bruno (my sister). I believe Albus is the best, isn't it?
Albus has big green-grey eyes and a little pink nose; my mother says he reminds her of Yoda from Stars Wars, I vote for ET. He makes shrilly little noises, something similar but not as loud as the nazguls from LotR. I call him dear piranha, because he has little pointed teeth, and likes to chew everything. Not to lick, not to bit, to chew. He is an energetic white ball, who runs and runs and plays and, if you merely touch him, purrs.
As all of you could imagine, Luna is *not* happy. But she has not attacked him yet, and we are trying to spoiler her a bit, so she doesn't feel displaced. I hope she will accept him soon… I already love Albus.
And now I think about it, Albus y Severus are together again in my room! *smooch*
