My sister Lynn sent me a gorgeous skein of Mango Moon Recycled Sari Silk, and so I knit it up into a simple cushion cover, using stockinette to knit a long skinny rectangle that I then folded over and mattress-seamed. It is nice and soft and stands out wonderfully on our mostly beige/natural couch.

This was just a fun project to use up some rockin' cool yarn I got on sale at Romni on a whim. They only had two balls, so a two-ball project was in order, and I've been wanting a poncho-type thingy so I can be cool like everybody else. Dog knows where I'd where this, though. Another project past - this one was finished and mailed in April. I didn't use a pattern, just cast on and went, using a wide wine-coloured garter-stitch border with a stockinette centre in a colour that makes me think of rice cakes. This one was a real long project, one that stretched over several months and several other smaller projects. Probably because the recyled yarn I was using was absolutely teeny, and I was knitting in on size 5 (US) needles. This was a gift for Meredith for her birthday, knit in a fabulous darkly colourful kid mohair. Also my first attempt at a more intricate lace pattern. It was completed in early May, just in time for gifting.
