"Check here if you are interested in being assigned to a triple-occupancy room (triple rooms are billed at a lower rate than double rooms."
Okay, so by "triple-occupancy" are we talking about three people, one room, three beds? Or is it three people, three rooms, one common area?
Do you recommend signing up for a triple?

i was in a triple my first year and i was fine. it really depends on who you get put with. i got put with people i got along with, for the most part, but i definitely have friends who were on the other end of the spectrum. however, whether or not you say yes on that form, be aware that there's a good chance you may be in a triple anyway, as a lot of freshmen are.
it's a good option if money is an issue!

A fair amount of freshmen get put in triples. Freshmen can get put in any dorm on campus except for Wylie (older students, quiet dorm). I think there is a pretty good trade off though. The triples I know of are in Haines, Erdman, and Chilcott, which are the best located dorms of any on campus (closest to academic buildings, food, centralized location, not as much walking). The other dorms are up on the hill but are doubles. My triple this year is pretty good sized (we lofted two beds) and I know other people have good sized ones too. I think you have a good experience no matter where you end up, you'll like it either way.
