Re: Italian -

It appears as if no courses are currently available, but students can opt for a "self-study" program, whatever that means.

I'm just an incoming freshman, so I wouldn't really know what all that is about.

it really depends on what dorm you're in, and whether you're in a single/double/triple. the rooms aren't huge, but they aren't super tiny either ( ... )

Italian is offered at Pasadena City College and you can take it there if you want.

Oxy is isolated in the sense that there is a campus distinct from the surrounding neighborhood, but compared to 99% of liberal arts colleges, which are often located in rural areas, being right in Los Angeles makes it quite connected.

driving/transportation makes all the difference.
there's always something to do in LA.

yeah i would agree with everyone that if you have means of transportation, oxy isn't issolated at all. Los Angeles is a unique city where its really not a city rather a million smaller cities all squished together, which is why getting around can be a pain. (apparently LA is 437sq miles...my friend was just visiting and asking, im not that weird i swear haha). anyway, my sophmore year i had a car and i would go to hollywood all the time, but im just starting to learn about tons of places within a 10-15 min drive from here. LA has tons to do including santa monica and other beaches ( ... )
