For me, the "Time of Reinvention" (insert grandiose pretension) is always more authentic during the summer. I feel like New Years should begin at the end of June - it's so much more conducive to change than January's awful bleakness. People don't need stupid resolutions to change during the summer, but they do it naturally. The time away is what ( Read more... )

Ay, admirable goals. But I, too, have gotten really excited about getting busy for summer but always neglect to actually follow through with my goals. There is something so very consuming about continued idleness. And then it only gets worse and worse. Laziness begets laziness. Ay, there's the rub.

Not to be a pessimist or anything.

No no no no no, I fully expect that. I mean, why sit home and read, all hot and sticky and nasty, when you could be out making ice cream or having an NC-17 film festival or doing other crazy summer things? However, since several friends will be away for most of the summer, I'm counting on slightly fewer distractions.
