My thoughts:
- Save your money with fat burners, all they do is increase heart rate, they dont "tap into fat stores". Spend that money on high quality, whole foods which will help your body to run at an optimal level instead and the fat is taken care of.
- Abdominal work does SFA to help you lose weight. Focus that time on full body strength training which works bigger (and more useful) muscles and uses up more energy
- 4 months would be ideal. 3 months would be rushing it and probably wont be maintainable
- Fruit is a carb, but keep it (and others) in sensible proportions and you'll lose weight

what i do is strength training 4 x a week and a VERY specific diet (now). It takes me months to get into a cardio grove where i dont absoutely hate it ;)

Seconded on the strength training point :). I don't mind cardio but unless I have a specific goal in mind I tend to stop it. Strength training and tabata circuits provide sufficient cardio for most of my needs.

I took it fairly slowly. It's been around 18 months since I really started changing things, but I'm happy with the progress I'm making. I don't weigh myself often, but I'd estimate I've lost over 15kg (from 97 -_-), and toned up a lot too. The muscle gain counterbalances the fat loss, so it's hard to gauge things off weight along ( ... )

In regards to the soft drinks, drinking sparkling (mineral) water with a splash of fruit cordial (like Bickfords or Cascade) is a good substitute if you like a fizzy drink.
