My sister turns twenty today. She has lived with me for twenty whole years. She's put up with me telling her that a bug bite on my leg is MRSA (and very nicely calmed me down while pretending to take me VERY SERIOUSLY), lets me steal her clothes, keeps my secrets, has seen me at my lowest, my highest (emotionally and illegally) and my drunkest. Well, I hope for her 21st she's out making bad decisions and not with me. But if she is stuck with me, even the cake for next year will have alcohol in it: I'm thinking Guinness chocolate cake, ganache spiked with some sort of coffee liqueur, (I don't like whiskey) and buttercream frosting spiked with Bailey's. Like an Irish Car Bomb, but as a cake.

okay, you know i love the food porn, but what i really want to know about erica's birthday is how did she like the jewelry? and what did you get her?

I wound up trading in a bunch of costume jewelry to get her two brooches. One is silver with sapphires and it's in a sort of whirly star shape and the other is a gold flower with fake diamonds. I'll try to get her to model them tomorrow. I really love the silver and sapphire one. She loved them. Vintage jewelery is the way straight to her heart.

The chopped up chocolate SO reminds me of the Barefoot Contessa!!!

Ha, you can feel it. I can visibly see mine getting wider and wider.
And Danielle's birthday is in six days, so there will be little to no hope for it.
