glad you liked it. i'm in the field right now and have some stressful planning items next week and a pesky dissertation proposal to write up so i'm not quite sure. hopefully soon, because i might lose all my steam for fun writing. we were actually having a conversaion in the SUV ride back to camp today about archaeologists using fiction in their analysis as part of the write up (which does happen, sometimes it works but most of the time i think it's crap). there's one book out there written by a profesisonal archaeologist in which all of the "research" is fictional and you would only know that if you read the forward. it makes a point, but it sort of masquerades as a legit researched thing. i was like "eeek!" i've also written stuff with fake research, but at least mine is being peddled as pure fiction.

*nods* I'd like more, please. There is going to be more, yes? -ASH

By the by - I found a reference to something called the Yonaguni Monument, a submerged formation off the coast of a Japanese island near Taiwan. Its status as an artificial or natural structure seems to be uncertain - can you point me to any reputable archaeological search engines where I could look it up in the literature? Web-based research is all very well, but I'd like to avoid the sites which eagerly include it with Atlantis and the Mars Face.

i've got the last part brewing in my brain, i put it together when i'm really stressed on site in my head (which is quite frequently unfortunately). this one has gotten very little response from the hornblower community, which makes me sad since the first one got a lot and i felt loved, but at least i've gotten a few comments.
i've decided that the part of Rob is "played" by david tennant, because he's so damned dorktastically cute.
um, the yonaguni monument. hmmm. i don't know of any reputable search engines for it. i think for the most part the professional community kinda laughs at it and puts it right up there with the bimini road and atlantis. i will, however, place an inquiry and see if i can get anything for you.

Quoth the picsties: "Crivens! Drat yon Hoornblewer Communittee! Ween be cravin' moor!"

Atlantis seems to be appropriate. None of the articles I read were by writers of any great probity - the most scholarly of all being by a second-rate Media Don - but I was curious if anyone had bothered to denounce it through reputable literature.

y'know it took me a sec to realize what you meant by "picsties" because i thought it said "pixies"
i'm just that tired, bruised and stupid.

Man, I suck. I didn't comment when I read this.

Best. Series. Ever.

Can't wait to see the finale.

*huge squeee* This series is so much fun! I had a whole lot of a dork squee over Gill making the same mistake with French as Bush did in Hotspur, with the "Parte dukes", and over Croft Street as well. The romance between Rob and Mina is so sweet, and I want to know what that letter said! Hope there's more where this came from! =)

thank you! gill's inability to speak french is inspired by a friend's inability to speak spanish (who is, oddly enough, also a nautical archaeologist). i also want to know what the letter said (cuz i haven't quite figured it out yet!)
one more bit from these guys, but put on hold until i get my work-related writing done.
