Understanding what it’s like to have yourself broken is something no one wishes for. It is an understanding of the world many have seen, but seek to forget. To have yourself destroyed quietly from the inside out, a pain only you can feel, a pain you can never be saved from. Utter destruction is something you must brave on your own, alone in the darkness. Knowing all of this, would you continue your journey into the world?

He pulled out his book and studied it. The book was filled with maps of the worlds he would never reach again. He traced his fingers over tranverse town and then he traced them all the way to Hollow Bastion. A sigh escaped his perfectly shaped pale pink lips. A name followed his sigh, a name of someone he would never see again. He had destroyed something so precious to him, but he had to in order to save everyone else, but somehow he wished he hadn’t. It sounded so selfish, but having your heart destroyed as you fought with yourself to finish the last battle and close that door that Mickey and Riku stood inside. When he heard that door click, he knew it was all over, his heart was pounding, his mind was reeling and he could remember screaming.

He could still remember the elder man’s voice, his lips, and his well defined, muscular, body. He remembered how it felt against his own, the first time his lover had held him in his arms, all the while whispering words of love and protection and Sora had believed every single one of them.

Sora could remember how naive he was to what the older man had wanted while they lay together alone in the dark. Neither of them broke the silence that was held there between them. Sora could remember the way the older man’s lips had felt against his own. He could feel his heart soar now at the thought of the older man’s experienced tongue searching his own virgin mouth.

He would give anything to see him again, to feel him so close he could feel their hearts beating in time with each other. A delightful shiver coursed through his body and his eyes slid closed slowly. He was picturing his lover returning to him, arms out stretched. but he soon trashed that ridiculous thought. His lover was not that openly clingy or loving, but Sora preferred it that way. Sora liked having to work for love, and he also liked the way it was so secretive…it made him feel special like they were the only two people alive in the world.

Since the battle had been won, he had been sulking, lost in his wish for his lover to return. He could hear jiminy cricket’s voice now. It had just invaded his thoughts with the word wish. It came in the form of an awful realization; it was almost as if it was mocking him. He had given up on wishing ages ago, he had lost hope in everything he had once held so dear to him. The song echoed in his mind again.

“When you wish upon a star,
Makes no difference who you are,
Anything your heart desires will come to you.”

Sora growled at its tone. Lies, all lies! It was just like when Leon used to tell him he’d never leave him…when he used to say he’d always be there for him. Sora had felt so betrayed once they had met in Hollow Bastion at Castle Oblivion when reality set in and Leon had told him they would never see each other again. He could feel his heart breaking. At that moment he had felt so worthless and so upset. He had almost cried, but Sora had become an expert at holding back his tears.

That night, he had been crying again and Leon had tried so desperately to comfort him, but he didn’t want Leon then…he wanted to just cry it all out. It was the first time they had ever fought, and the first time Sora had ever felt such a pain.

Now he was holding on to a stupid wish that was never coming true. The whole world seemed like midnight with no one there to hold him, no one there to whisper words to him, and no one there to love him. He felt so incomplete.

He stood up, staring down at the water that was at least 10 feet below him. He was standing on the edge of the cliff now. He was going to destroy himself for all the pain he felt. He looked down at the water one last time before he turned his back to the cliff and let himself go.

Anything to kill the pain, anything to rid myself of this anguish, I need to escape from this emptiness I feel in my heart…

He never heard the crash, he never felt himself die, but somehow as he fell backwards like that, the wind pressing against him…he could feel all the pain washing away and love feeling his heart once more.

“I love you,” he heard a voice whisper. A smile graced his lips, and tears spilled from his eyes, flying up into the wind above him.

“I love you too…” he whispered back.

At least I got to hear his voice one last time…

this one made me cry, I'm working on more right now.
