No it doesn't sound unrealistic. I want to do the same things. Live everywhere for 6 months... and never come back here. But, truth is, you have to do just that. You have to keep moving, or just get used to the fact that everywhere you go will eventually look like auburn does to you right now. maybe not, but I would imagine that's how it would be. which stinks.
