I'm mainly looking at used vehicles in the $7k-$9k range. I'd still love a Prius, but there aren't many used ones for sale, and I've never driven one.

Have you ever looked at a car like mine, Toyota Matrix? I love the seat height best about it. And the gas mileage is better than that...around 32 on the highway.

Absolutely. You can even take it for a drive. It's a manual, just fyi.

By the way...when is the girls night gift exchange?

I drove a PT Cruiser on my last trip to Texas. I thought I was going to have to pick my feet up to get up hills! It had NO pick up. I also found it to have a horrible blind spot in the back.

What about a Corolla? Are they lower than a Civic?

I just can't imagine getting rid of a Honda for Cruiser. I did have a Dodge previously that had an adjustable seat height and I loved it. And then the next generation of the same car they got rid of it! I got rid of that car fairly quickly. I love my Honda and it's power seats and windows etc. even though it was in the damned shop this morning.

My step-daughter had a PT Cruiser for a couple of years. She averaged about 15/20 in mileage and ended up hating the car. It had zero hill climbing ability and had less interior room than my old Kia Spectra5.
As far as those small wagons go the best of them would probably either be a Toyota Matrix/Pontiac Vibe or the Mazda 3 wagon.
