They are Phantom Planet. A Las Angeles based Emo-esque band. The lead singer, who is a total hottie, was in Donnie Darko. He played one of the bullies. Funny, he's nowhere near as cute in the movie as he is in real life. He and Jake Gyllenhaal, that would be Donnie, are super-close friends in real life. Also, the drummer played the lead roll in Rushmore. I've listened to some snippets of their stuff and they sound a lot like a friends band, at least to me. Jake promotes them in the Donnie Darko commentary. Very Beatle-esque. As soon as I have money, I'm going to order a T-shirt and a CD.

ahhhh i see....yeah, that guy from rushmore, he rules!! he was also in slackers and played the psycho dork guy hehehe funny stuff. i know i haven't seen donny darko, but that guy in the front does look familiar...and hot too ;)
