Fucking hell.  The RAID controller on one of our main servers had a meltdown this morning.  It's a government purchase but the IBM warranty lapsed 3 months ago.  I've been on the horn all day today with tech support and sales reps.  All this really means, though, is that my grand two-week vacation has been cut short by a whole five days.  To say ( Read more... )

Hahha, if it's not the drives it's the controller. Sucks for your vacation. :(

Luckily this was recent enough hardware that the controller was able to redetect the drives original configuration, so it appears I won't have to remake the virtual volume and configure my server from scratch. I was VERY worried about that. Looks like I lost a day of vacation but everything is set for me to finish up on Tuesday. Whew! Could have been worse...

I had this whole week off as well as the previous Friday and the following Monday. It's alright looks like I just lost a day rather than five. Getting called out of bed yesterday was definitely not a good time though.
