haha. i hate how this 'getting arrested' is so exagerated by the fact that he's been made 'america's darling' - which you know he'll still be. it's not really ironic though, because you can expect to not be driving if you get drunk and get caught driving.

its ironic, because he has just bought a new car, but he wont be able to drive in it, and its also funny that he has a road named after him, but he cant actually drive on it anymore. :(

his drinking itself doesnt, but drinking and driving definantly will hurt his image. i still love him to death, but theres no doubt it isnt going to be very good at all

it has not effect what so ever on his ability to swim. i dont think people should be worried so much about his immage.

well, several reasons in fact. assuming he wont go to jail, which i seriously dont think he will, its distracting, alcohol is horrible for your system, espescially in a sport where the end result comes down to the mila seconds, and image is important because its what gets him sponserships. no to mention, it could hurt his whole trying to bring swimming up to mainstream, b/c thats based on him, and only him. swimming has never been so close to being mainstream, and its because of him, so the whole image thing might be a problem.
