Concerning Michael

I have a question. I'm writing this new story. I'm like six chapters into it...anyway, I was wondering...would it be totally blasphemous if I wrote Michael as a straight guy? It's not necessary, but I think it would be interesting. And for some reason, that's how he keeps writing himself in this story...It would be terrible, huh? Just tell me

Yay, a new story!!! A straight Michael. That sounds interesting. It would be a different kind of twist on the whole Mikey/Brian relationship. I'm curious. I don't think it would be totally blasphemous. I enjoy all of your stories and I'm sure this one will be just as fabulous!

Hee hee. But, I'm just thinking of all the backlash. You know? Like, people complaining about taking away from what QAF is all about. It's like, "Oh, lookee. A story about gay men. I know! Let's make them straight!" Sort of takes away the essence, neh? But...You don't think that it would be a terrible idea.

Man. I need a lot of reassurance on this one.

Meh. I don't know. I'm not a QAF purist like some people. It is fanfiction, fiction being key the word. And you are writing an AU, so things are bound to be different. I've read quite a few stories where the sexuality of characters is different. They make Lindsay straigt, or Daphne gay, etc. If changing the the sexuality of Mikey is essential the story, than go for it.

I, personally, don't see a problem with it. Because...honestly? Hal Sparks is such a cutie but his straightness comes shining through, ya know?

If you're *really* not sure, you could always either post it and get people's opinions, or you could email it to me to look over. (Yes, I am willing to break my 'Thou shalt not ever beta again rule.' just for you.) However, if you do send it, you've gotta tell me if what you're expecting--a quick read over, a soft beta, or a blood beta.

I always look at Michael as sort of asexual anyways (I think it's the way Sparks plays him). So I think you might as well write him straight. If it's a fic of yours, I doubt there will be too much backlash.

Adding my opinion it would be fresh idea and I personally think you shoudl go with it. However I really doubt M/B fans will go to an B/J archive so em.. I doubt you'll get any backlash from that.

I think it's a good idea but it's your story. If you want to make Michael straight then do it.
