Can a story have a gender?

So I was talking to a friend of mine about my novel. He's read the first half of "Big Damn Heroes", and a small part of "Part 2". He made an interesting observation ( Read more... )

I haven't forgotten about yo story, I swear. I've gotten a mere five pages into it, but hopefully the comments are helpful(l?).

I think male points of view are way more interesting than female anyway ... but maybe that's because I'm really a man inside. Who knows. Plus, it's more impressive to write from the point of view of the opposite sex. Female POVs are easy for girls.

Yeah I just couldn't do the female POV. I tried writing a section from Morgan's POV and it sounded lame and whiny...as most chicks do.

don't worry, I know the story is long and probably a bit painful to read. Take your time :)
