The c-drama Lost Tomb Reboot, aka Reunion: The Sound of Providence, was great. It's basically a Tomb Raider show, which is something we don't have on Western television

Yeah, the books aren't BL, and the show isn't either. You can of course interpret the married-couple vibe into it, either Wu Xie/Xiaoge, which is very much supported by the intensity of the relationship in the books but not so much in LTR because Xiaoge is barely in that, but also Wu Xie/Pangzi, or OT3, which a lot of people don't like because Pangzi is the fat comic relief character. *shrug*
In any case, if you like the tomb robbing nonsense side of it, there are tons and tons of canons for it, and a dozen books, and they shouldn't be taken too seriously, because the books are already wild and make little sense, and the dramas even more so. ;)
You didn't? I've seen you post so many icons about this show, so I'm surprised.
Wu Xie/Pangzi have some great scenes too, but Pangzi had Piao Piao, and I imprinted on Wu Xie/Xiaoge from the start. Xiaoge is back in the second half of S2, but the scenes are less slashy than in the first half of S1.
I saw a fanvid for the donghua, I think I will watch that soon because I like the chara design and it's less of a difference than watching another drama season with different actors.
Also, I don't know if you used to watch the US show Warehouse 13, but the whole arc taking place in Warehouse 11 cracked me up for kinda working like a spin-off of W13.
My brain always does that with things I like. I stop a few eps before the end - and in this case I stopped about 20 eps before the end. O_O I will likely get around to it at some point, but... *shrug*

Lol, yeah, true. I hated most of the warehouse arc - I think I wasn't sufficiently attuned to the show being utter nonsense yet, so it got on my nerves. It's probably one of the reasons I stopped watching the show so long before the end.
[oh, right, i have no cdrama usericons anymore... hmpf.]
They explore parts of the Warehouse where supposedly nobody can ever go and there are dudes who've been living there for years. lolol And these dudes are also trying to understand thunder, which has never made any sense and will never make any sense. So yeah, a strong suspension of disbelief is needed for this show, but I've never had any problem with that, as long as I love the characters.
