the family i work for is broke. they are deciding today whether or not they can afford to keep me on.

I've been here 6 months, shouldn't they have figured out their shit by now? I'm really pissed off. they should have taken this all into consideration BEFORE they got an au pair.

What the fuck am i supposed to do now?

just start looking for another job... they should help you out, considering they got you into shit in the first place. but i'm sure you could find another position in the next few weeks, right? good luck though. it all might turn out for the best in the end.

Yes, I know Norway is more like north-central Europe. But seriously, I'm not sure how the whole au pair process works, but can't you find another family with a kid that needs watched? Could you find another job to tide you over in the meantime?
