Movie List 2008

Feb 14, 2008 00:58

I originally took this idea from prof_blink, afterwards I've seen it in a couple more journals, but I pretty much copied her scheme. Basically I always have a hundred million movies in my mind that I want to watch but when it comes to renting something or going to the cinema I can never remember them. Hopefully this list will help me keep track of them.

La Science des Rêves was werid. I didn't like it. I wanted to. I loved Eternal Sunshine... This one didn't flow right... I think I understood the concept of the movie. I just don't think the story was told right. But I may have just missed the whole point....

Definitely see El Laberinto del Fauno. It may be overtaking Tombstone as my favorite movie... It's getting close... Which if you haven't seen tombstone, Do so. It's one of Kirt Russle's/Val Kilmer's best roles EVAR!!!! It's that good that I had to go all school girlish improper english....

King kong was long, boring and weird... They went a little too much with the cinimatography... They needed to tone it down a notch...

Momento was great, Just pay attention. It's one of those ones that if you don't you may get lost for the rest of the film.

I don't know, for me it was sort of the other way around. I really liked Eternal Sunshine, but I was never too sure whether or not I had got it right. This one was different. I liked that he was like a little kid at times, and deep down (when we start dating especially) we're all like little kids, fearing the other person won't like us back and being terribly irational. I don't know... might have got it all wrong.

Cowboys with Kurt Russell? I don't know... Might watch it if I happen to run into it.

I heard it had a dinosaur there somewhere, I'm not entirely sure if I'll like it. But everyone talked so much about it that I'm curious. Besides I loved LotR so just in honor of Jackson I'll give it a try.

I've had Memento taped for ages and yet I never sit down to watch it. Me and my Dad said we'd watch it together and we never agree on the date. But I'll make sure to pay attention, everyone gives me the same recommendation.

Yeah, I wouldn't think him as a cowboy would work either..> But the whole cast is amazing. Top to bottom, it's just an excellent film.

King Kong, There was a reason he was kicked off of the project originally. Some how he managed to talk his way into directing LOtR and they decided to give him another shot.... They could of cut a bunch of stuff out of the movie and it may have been a better film. They just went a little too epic over the top with the whole thing. Some movies are not meant to be an epic... King Kong is one of them....

Well, I'll take the risk if I ever run into it...

That's something else everyone keeps saying... I don't know, at this point I'd watch it anyway just to ease my curiosity.

Hahaha, adding to the list. Also, chances are I'll begin working on the 25th, any free time before that?

I'm inclined towards the second, but una mancha más al tigre...

Gambon can go to hell.

Simple. Concise. And to the point. AMEN!

I'm so curious about Memoris of a Geisha, I keep hearing great things about it... gotta fidn a way to sit down and watch it properly.
And I adore Reese ♥

Sweeny Todd and Pan's Labyrith are 2 other movies I really want to see...
If you see them before I do, lemme know what you think of them ;)

As far as recs go... would you be willing to check out 2 italian movies? Maybe with subs or dubbed. You should be able to find them cause they won Oscars. One is 'La vita è bella' di Benigni, the other one is 'Mediterraneo' by Salvatores (it's from the early 90s I think, and I still love that movie to pieces).

Hahaha, thanks!

Well if you do watch Memoirs of a Geisha make sure your expectations aren't that high. I mean I really liked it, but when everyone keep complimenting it then you'll hardly like it.

Gonna go watch Sweeny Todd next week with my brother so I'll tell you then.

I did watch La Vita è Bella (with subtitles and all). Everyone had sold it to me like one of those life changing movies and I didn't think it was that great. Probably because I had just watched Schindler's List and Benigni's intake on it all seemed too lighthearted. Will check out Mediterraneo tho.

you watched all the harry potter movies? :O i thought you said you weren't going to do it untill uh.. oh i think you said you weren't going to watch them untill after the 7th book? right..

they obviously get better with every passing movie. We'll probably end up liking the 7th movie best. Because it has the most action and the most CGI potent content, and the most exciting story as all the questions are answered.

i still think you're a bit too critical though.

Right. Me and my brother rented them all at once and spent two days watching them.

I admit I'm critical, I'm also very critical of the books. Once you've spent so much time in a fandom you just can't help it. Especially if you grew up with it, none of the books will ever feel the same as the first three did when I first read them. I was hardly a teen, now I get to read them from another point of view and it shows.
