With all the changes and loss I've experienced in the last year, no midwife, becoming a mother-in-law, etc. I want to have a party/ritual to let go and move on. I'm thinking the Japanese ritual that honors the dead with the flickering paper lanterns on water is close to what I want to do. You could do this by launching a kite to be loosed on the winds, or a hand-crafted document consumed by ritual flame, or a hand-made talisman buried under a tree.

Write it down on a piece of paper and then burn it in a candle flame?

So wait, one of your children got married? I don't recall you posting about that. Congrats! I hope the union is a good match that results in happiness and love (and an opportunity for you to play midwife/ doula, too).
