Peppernuts? As in pfeffernusse (sp)? How do you make them from scratch? =)

It's my Father-in-law's recipe.

1 pound of flour (4cups)
1 pound of sugar (2 1/3 cups)
4 eggs
1 teaspoon cinnamon (I use more)
1 teaspoon black pepper (I use less)
1 grated lemon rind

Beat eggs and sugar until you get ribbons.
Mix the dry ingredients into the egg mixture. Roll 1/2 inch thick. Cut with a small cutter. (I cut the top off a liter bottle and use that) Place on greased baking pan overnight. Turn over and bake @ 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. (I just watch them and take them out when they get brown, took 20 minutes for me last time I made them)
