hi rachel! well, i have been to both places and they both have pros and cons.

Paris: awesome city! people arn't very nice, at least from my family's experience, but the city is absolutely amazing and always full of life and things to do. aka SHOPPPINGGGGG YEEAAHHHHH. france in general is just an expensive city and if you've already been there you might want to consider somewhere else

Scotland: holy shit i was just there this summer and it was amazing! i am scotish so it was really awesome to be in my home country and feel proud of my heritage. The university is right in town and everything is easy to walk to (considering u've got the time of course, takes like 20 min to get across to dif main parts of the city) ummm, a con would be that it's super cold and rainy, kinda like santa cruz only a little colder. other than that, it's not TOO expensive and yay for legal bar drinking at 18! good luck on your decision!

Follow your heart Rachel-san.

Other than useless and confusing advice, here is some sound advice: Wherever you go, it is a new place and a different culture from our own. You don't have to pack everything into one trip, i.e. taking your fashion classes and learning a new language. Surely you will have fun and experience something new either way, which is the whole point. You dont have to think of everything as being good for your resume. I think if you went to scotland you would have more opportunity to meet new people, and the added plus is that there isnt the language barrier (although it might be hard to understand them for a while anyway). But ummm....yeah I forget what else I was going to say but you get the picture. But hey, dont listen to me. Just remember the first sentence. Remember it.

I hear yah with the finance problems, but I figure its worth being in dept for awhile since its a life time experience.

Danny Morris, thanks for you input and I see what you're saying. P.S. when are you coming back to visit? better be soonish. You should come this weekend with isaac, dan and alex.

Wellll I just found out tonight from Dinesh that they are going this weekend and as it turns out I will in fact be there at the same time as they are. In fact with any luck I should arrive tomorrow (thurs). Give me a call. I'll try to call you. Especially tomorrow if youre not busy studying, because I know Alexandra Blumstein will be and I will have nothing to do that night. Weird, if I see them there, it will have been the first time in months, yet they live minutes away.

And no problem. I wish I had good travel abroad opportunities like you do. Dvc had like 3 a year and they generally suck.
