unrelated to your entry but a reply to your comment horray!
Thats exactly the moment I had. The beauty of working a medical job is how open the hours are. You can pretty much make up whatever schedule you'd like. Personally while i'm still the ambulance type of paramedic I would like to work 3 12 hour days so that I can have 4 days off a week to do whatever I want. Really working a job 9-5 with weekends off sounds crappy to me. Your day is pretty much killed at that point and there no way your going to travel somewhere.
When I become a flight paramedic I'll work 1 24 hour day every 4 days or 1 24 a week and an added 12 somewhere. If I'm gonna kill a day working I'd rather kill 2 or 3 then 5.
Did anything result from your moment or are you still pursuing your career in the same way?
There must be something you can write and work you own hours. From stuff i've read from you I think your good enough to just write novels with the occasional articles here and there. Obviously you have to get to that point but I think your talented
Yeah, that sounds like a really good deal, actually. For some reason, the idea of a 24 hour day seems to suit you.
About my job, I know I'm not going in to journalism, if that's what you mean. I guess the happy medium would be working as a professor and writing on the side (the two kinda go hand in hand and teaching is almost like working part time if you take into account the summers off).
I did decide, however, that I'm not going to grad school right away (as a direct result of the 'career epiphany'). I need to spend some time tooling around and working odd jobs and generally gathering 'material' for some big novel that'll hopefully win me millions. Not a total career reversal, but I'm working with it.
Thanks for the compliment, by the way. Much appreciated.
