taking a stand

Recently, it was proposed by the uninformed that I had somehow gotten _MWife_ "stuck" with adopting children of a "different race" than ourselves. I only thought it appropriate to take up these charges in a more public setting. Allow me to observe that like most urban legends, this one is based on serious misinformation.

polemics, children

I am amused nearly beyond reason by the idea that you might have forced your wife into any such decision. I'm trying to envision how it might have happened, and . . . nope, I got nothing. I can't even imagine it.

Whoa. Who on earth would say such a thing? And say it to you, of all people?

You want I should go break their kneecaps?

Say that? I'm proposed someone would even think it.

I hope this is someone you don't have to associate with very often. Spitting is technically assault...

Morans!

I have heard comments similar to this (about parents adopting children of a different color) a lot lately, and it never fails to anger me. Why would someone think that, say that, or even care?

One of my closest friends is currently going through an adoption of a child who will not share neither her nor her partner's skin pigmentation.

Though I believe she's not encountered much of this response just yet, she fears that it will be inevitable in her life as a parent and is already preparing answers to moronic questions of this ilk.

I'll have to pass on your spitting with ease response. I like that. I think she will as well. : )
