Just last week I was still compiling Google notebooks at work and recommending them to a co-worker, and today I find out that Google discontinued them back in January of 2009!

Co-worker/office mate tripped over a stupid design flag in the way the interface to the thread library in Java is designed.

Java has an interface for continuations, called Runnable, which (surprise!) implements a public run() method to trigger the continuation. So far, so good ( Read more... )

On Friday we had a major server meltdown at work (source code repository), only to discover that the reigning sys admin had gone on vacation without communicating the latest password change, since they were still in the middle thereof.
