I think it has something to do with the girl's mother being hot, so the boyfriend, prom date, whatever-the-fuck-he-is is attracted to her. Hence "I like your mom and it's no fad..." business, because that's probably what the advertisers thought.

"Oh, there's a song about liking someone's mom because she's hot."

Way to go Pepsi. You failed to rationalize the fact that it's a Bouncing Souls song and now middle-aged men who are wasted off of Bud Light are going to be talking about that commercial like the song was completely made up because the dude wanted to bang his date's mom. Fuck mooks. All of them.

or maybe the bouncing souls (or their label?) failed to rationalize the fact that it was a pepsi commercial being aired during the super bowl.
