Don't know about Birmingham, but I just heard from Oslo that two stolen Munch paintings, "Madonna" and the other one everyone has heard about, have been retrieved in good condition. My first reaction was to yell "Yes!", my second to congratulate your country on a comparatively rare bit of good news.
Thank you! Yeah, everyone's happy to have them back where they belong. Seems most people never really doubted that the paintings would reappear (though personally I was convinced they'd been sold to some collector), so there's been less fuss about them that I'd expected. "The Munch paintings are back." "Oh really? How nice! Now what's for supper?"
Heh. That suggests to me that the paintings were being used as collateral for some underworld transaction or other, and that the police knew of it. It has been happening more and more frequently of late - not long ago, Spanish state police raided the property of some people traffickers and found a priceless Stradivarius violin. I guess villains have a respect for the financial value of great art.
I missed this, must have been while I was away, of course now I don't know what it was about, I just poped by to see if you were still in the betaring business for cranky old Brummie women? Yes I know I am pain, but you can always tell em to shut the F*** up if need be.
Was about the bombers - quite a few of them were brummies I think. Sure I can beta, but it'll have to wait for a while - I don't have internet access these days. Am off (probably) later today to try and fix it. :p
