Who is the Lord really?

10:23 AM 9/7/10 · An ongoing sore point for me has been when anyone refers to Jesus as the 'Lord'. It's not I think him undeserving of the title so much as it is that he didn't want any special treatment when he was alive. Can't weigh in on the rest of it, but I will say that considering the Hebrew word for Lord is "Adonai", and since it's scattered liberally throughout the Old Testament Hebrew Bible, and forms the basis of like every Hebrew prayer including those dating back to well before Jesus' time, I'd say the use of "Lord" for G-d predates the use of "Lord" for Jesus.
