and i agree that self harm issues are becoming part of a fad, people think that thats what they have to do in order to fit in with the emo group.

well, i don't really agree with that part. i doubt they do it to fit in because it's never really been seen as "cool", even in the emo circle. it's something people hide from others, just like an eating disorder. they only share it with other people who do it because they know anyone else will look down on it. they know it's not cool and most of them want to stop but it's not that easy.

but i do agree that if mcr stopped them from commiting suicide, they probably weren't going to do it anyway. or maybe they were but didn't actually want to, so they latched on to any excuse to stay alive. and if that's the case, then they shouldn't be posting it on on messageboards and getting published into magazines. it just makes a joke out of the whole thing, when suicide is anything but that. if mcr really DID save some of them, that's awesome. but no doubt there's a few fakers in there and that's just baaaaad.
