so i just went and talked with brian about being my advisor. we talked for a while about how i want to do research, and he said sooner rather than later i should define what i mean by 'wanting to do research'. he also told me about some program called REU, which is research experience for undergraduates. it's a program that combines with NSF, the ( Read more... )

that's awesome. One possible lead to follow: I know of a couple of bio majors and of at least one psych major that worked/have been working at OHSU.

yeah, i'm gonna talk to him once opportunities start to open up and see if there's things to be done at OHSU. i'd kinda rather stay in the portland area since i was planning on getting a house here for the summer, but shit, if i'm getting paid to travel and research at some other university, i'm all for it

Woohoo! That's so exciting! I know how you feel-- I found out about this awesome NASA internship stuff, and I'm definately going for it. Paid stuff, experience... I mean, come on, right? What's not to like?! ;)

yaaaaa i found something sweet from a drawing of mark ryden's that i want. it's an adorable little elephant balancing a ball on its trunk. i traced/drew it aaaand now i'm just on the hunt for a good tattoo artist that i'm willing to shell out the money for/waiting til i have enough money to pay for it

hahaha.. i just met a kid from berkeley tonight whos totally one of my new favorite people, but i am thinking of coming to california at some point, i want to see you and matt and lucas and everyoen else whos in the bay area so that could totally work :)
