I am back to work now, after a segmented vacation. I went walking with James to the Lakes. James is a healthy man, we took Helvellyn in just 3 hours (from camp to ridge), and continued walking afterwards. On another day we strayed off path to make amends to a loss of direction. Damn, some how the last couple of months were swallowed up worse than the others. This must be the space-time distortion created nearing the end of my PhD. It is probably going to get worse. Things are going ok at the moment. I am working on a tangent of my phd ideas, which should prove the underlying principles. The only trouble is my first supervisor told me explicitly not to investigate it, whilst my second supervisor thinks it would be a good paper. On the one hand, it is a tangent. I find myself quite anxious at the moment, feeling nervous a lot of the time. It is a horrible feeling.
