Spring says no dead bodies burried under my lawn

So today I took some time off from work to have a little cosplay fun. I wrestled with a wig for a new costume, pinned to a wighead, then did what I usually do: put it on and take a lot of photos. Why? Because I can't see the flaws as well in the mirror ( Read more... )

Ah! I use a camera to check things too (one of the lucky ones with a I have a timer)! Though, with or without my camera, I still can't seem to be pleased with my Kurai wig. You'd thing something so simple would be... simple. >.< I almost cried tears of joy when my dad bought a tripod for his camera. Full-body tests! XD

Sadly, I have no idea what your wig is for which incredibly bugs me since it feels like I've seen it somewhere~! Guess this'll be project number one for the year? ^^

And I'd go ahead and get the new powered lenses. That way your prescription would be updated should you need more contacts in the near future. Ah, people with 20/20 vision don't know how well off they are!

A tripod! You're so lucky! That'd got to be a great help! As for the wig, I think the simpler they are, the harder they are to get just right. I have some that I still hate with a passion because they refuse to do what they should do. One day I will tame them!

That's my big new project for the year, the rest is finishing other costumes that have been taking up space. The motivation isn't here, though, I am so busy with work and class and my thesis!

You're a wearer of glasses/contacts as well?
To be honest, I was so tempted to have lenses put in my cosplay glasses instead of buying contacts. lol

Jeez, I have waaaayyy too many unfinished costumes packed away somewhere in the attic; I'm almost ashamed! But I'll get around to them. I understand the lack of motivation. Most of the costumes that I need to finish are from obscure or just-not-cosplayed-locally anime/manga/video games, so the desire to finish them seems to easily be pushed aside with promises of other, more cosplayed groups. Sheesh, I feel like such a groupie! But, I'll always be an obscure cosplayer at heart!

And I'm pretty much blind as a bat! At least, when it comes to near-sightedness. I see perfectly fine when my nose is practically touching the object! I've tried being in costume without my glasses, but when it comes to pictures, I always look mad or dazed because I'm not looking straight at the camera (even though I thought I was) XD

Lol, nah, you should probably just go ahead and update your prescription. That way it'll be done and over with. ^^

For me it's totally the reverse/non-reverse image thing, because my face is pretty asymmetrical. I'm used to how it looks in the mirror but when I see photos all the asymmetries really jump out and irritate me. :P

I'm pretty damn blind without glasses so I wish I had the money for lasik...kind of scary but not having to wear glasses would be awesome. If I added up the cost of my last three pairs of glasses it would probably cover the surgery fees...:P

We're all a bit asymmetrical, and that might indeed be the reason. Because I see photos and think "that's horrible and look nothing like me" and people assure me that no that's what I look like. (Poor them, having to look at that.)

I wonder if it's also the 3D to 2D transformation that is more flattering to some than others. Because there are people I wouldn't look at twice in real life, who become gods and goddesses on film.
It's intriguing.

Lasik sounds so great and yet... there's always a chance of catastrophy, which is honestly what always stopped me. Eyes are something I'm really afraid to gamble with! But it's true that glasses are getting more and more expensive... which is too bad because I'd love to have a number of different ones and swap them out to match my outfits.

The first thing that sprang to mind was "hey, it's Aerith... but she's agirl." But then, she doesn't have red eyes. I'd like to ponder further, but that Euram-comment complete slew me. Eww.

The hair is short in the back! I swear!

And believe me, I'm glad I wasn't drinking when I read that Euram comment, or my keyboard would be no more! (I really dislike the Barrows, I'm a Stormfist girl.)

While I think about it, do you attend conventions outside of Denmark? I'll be at japan expo in Paris this year, and if you're there we definitely need to meet. Although you might have to stand in front of me and wave so I can recognize you without vision correction... ;)

I think it's enough to say that I was eating an apple at the time. I should have known better. *wrinkles nose* Is there actually anyone that likes him?

I do - there is really only one here, so I don't have much choice! Japan Expo sounds like a lot of fun (and I've always wanted to go to Paris!); when is it? Financial situation permitting (I'm a recent house owner!), I'd love to go.

Although you might have to stand in front of me and wave so I can recognize you without vision correction... ;)

Ah, I have 20/20 vision (which, in reverse, is a curse for wanting to cosplay characters with glasses...), so I might be able to spot you. Unless you're going as a girl, of course.

(And these are my last sets of parentheses for this post, I promise.)
